About Royse City, Texas

Royse City, Texas, like the rest of Rockwall County, has experienced phenomenal growth in recent years. This is due to the rapid growth of the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex and to its location on Interstate 30 between Rockwall and Greenville. Residences in Royse City offer everything from new developments to older, established homes. Royse City is popular with small to midsize families who want to live close to the city, but far enough to still feel rural.

Royse City is located in a rural, yet growing area located 30 miles east of Dallas. You can enjoy the slower pace of a small community while never being more than 30 minutes away from the entertainment and nightlife of downtown Dallas.  With several local restaurants to choose from and shopping just 10 minutes away, you are never far from anything you may need. There is also a wide variety of colleges in the area to choose from; Texas A&M-Commerce, SMU, Eastfield, & Collin County Community Colleges all within a 20 to 40 minute drive.

All campuses in the Royse City Independent School District are accredited by the Texas Education Agency and our secondary campuses by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.  From kindergarten to high school diverse special programs are available to support the regular curriculum, gifted and talented, and special needs.  The high school offers advanced placement classes along with dual credit courses.  The district also offers an alternative education for at-risk students through the Royse City Academy.
