Richardson, Texas is located in Dallas County and is one of the first-ring suburbs in the area. Richardson has grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade with the completeion of the area known as "Telecom Corridor", which is home to major operations centers for AT&T, Nortel, Cisco Systems, Fujitsu Network Communications, and many more. Richardson also has a vibrant arts community centered around The Eisemann Center for Performing Arts, a three venue, 1,550 seat facility located on the DART light rail line.

Richardson's housing ranges from entry level to executive homes in tree-lined, well established neighborhoods. Most residents live within and 1/2 mile of the city's 30 parks which are connected to the 40 mile trail system. Northeast Richardson features a 550 acre city park complete with trails, waterways, soccer and softball fields. Shopping and restaurants are abundant in Richardson.

 

The Richardson Independent School District has been recognized as on of the top urban school districts in Texas. More than 90% of RISD graduates go on to college. Richardson is also home to The University of Texas at Dallas, a major public research university nationally known for their engineering, computer science and executive MBA programs.
