Frisco, Texas is located in Collin County and is dubbed one of the fastest growing cities in Texas by the North Texas Council of Governments. Frisco is one of the metroplex's premier destinations to live, shop and play since the completion of the Dallas North Tollway. From retailers like Ikea and Stonebriar Mall to sports organizations Frisco Roughriders (AA affiliate to Texas Rangers) and FC Dallas (major league soccer club), Frisco has just about everything to offer local residents. The city also has over 550 acres of parks, 3 major golf courses, and Pizza Hut Park, a 145 acre multipurpose sports and entertainment facility. Centennial Medical Center, a 118 bed acute-care hospital, serves Frisco and the surrounding areas.
Frisco's population jumped from a little over 6,000 in 1990 to its current population of over 100,000. The Frisco Planning Department's projection for 2010 pegs the city's population at more than 111,000 residents. The median home cost in the area is around $190,000, making it a choice place to live.
The Frisco Independent School District is at the top of the fastest growing school districts in Texas, growing 10-30 percent annually over the past 12 years. As the school district grows in size, so does its commitment to excellence and its focus on providing the best learning opportunities for students. Test scores continue to improve and are well above the state and national averages.
